Born in La Spezia on May 4, 1946. At twenty he moved to Rome where he attended the University and then enrolled in the Academy of Dramatic Arts. He began his movie career as a screenplay writer, penning movies such as "Così come sei" (1978), "Borotalco" (1981), "Io Chiara e lo Scuro" (1983), "Acqua e sapone" (1983), "Una botta di vita" (1988), "Tolgo il disturbo" (1989). The first film he directed was "Cuori nella tormenta" (1984) with Carlo Verdone, Lello Arena and Marina Suma. In recent years he has been screenplay writer and director of comedy films which have been very successful at the box office: "Vacanze di Natale "90" (1990), "Vacanze di Natale "91" (1991), "Anni "90" (1992), and "Miracolo Italiano" (1994). His first experience as a TV director was in 1996 with "Dio vede e provvede", acclaimed by both critics and TV viewers. Soon after directing the nuns in "Dio vede e provvede", in 1996 Enrico Oldoini wrote, with Paola Pascolini, the TV movie "Nuda proprietà" for Lux Vide and Raiuno. The movie received great reviews from the critics and the audience and, among other tinghs, won the leading actor, Lino Banfi, the most important award of the Shanghai Festival. |
In 1997 Enrico returned to the set to direct the six new episodes of the second series of "Dio vede e provvede", as well as directing Paolo Villaggio in the movie "Un bugiardo in paradiso". |  |  |
