A famous tango dancer dies suddenly in the middle of a dance contest organized by the
town hall. The suspicion falls on a harmless pharmacist. Accusing him of the murder is his own daughter, the life
partner and dance partner of the victim, who accuses her father of having killed the dancer to end their relationship.
What the woman doesn't know, is that there is a more complicated truth that links her family to the victim.

Natalina is admitted to hospital for serious heart arrhythmia.
While Don Matteo is at the hospital visiting his housekeeper, something strange happens:
a doctor falls from the fourth floor of the hospital. At first it is treated as a suicide.
But Don Matteo heard the man's last words: disjointed syllables that seemed senseless.
To subvert the silence that rules the hospital, Anceschi decides to insert Cecchini,
undercover, as a male nurse. The Marshal, with the help of Don Matteo, will discover
a strange drug and medicine ring, and some mysterious deaths.
